Wanderlust is alive and well in Hawaii
VLOG part 2 falling in LOVE with Hawaii:) feeling great to totally unplug from work and get reconnected to nature and the beauty of the Hawaiian islands. This was my second day of adventures and Oahu did not disappoint! I have been posting lots of Wanderlust pictures over the last couple of years and was glad to be able to indulge myself fully.
Wanderlust explained. Did You Know?
For my part, writes Robert Louis Stevenson in Travels with a Donkey, “I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.” Sounds like a case of wanderlust if we ever heard one. Those with “wanderlust” don’t necessarily need to go anywhere in particular; they just don’t care to stay in one spot. The etymology of wanderlust is a very simple one that you can probably figure out yourself. “Wanderlust” is lust (or “desire”) for wandering. The word comes from German, in which wandern means “to wander,” and Lust means “desire.”
I went hiking the Diamond Head Lookout which is inside of an extinct old volcano crater, the pill boxes at the top of the lookout are from the days of the world wars and threat of Japanese invasion. This site is visually stunning and the hike is an easy hour up and another half hour down back to the car park. Also remember you get a great view of Waikiki to satisfy your Wanderlust.
Next we were in Honolulu, Hawaii for sunset on one of the nicest beaches I had seen. Some of the waikiki beaches have so many tourists on them that it can be hard to experience that Zen feeling you get and total relaxation. Ended the amazing day again with night swimming in the lagoons of Ko’olina Beach #Aloha!!!
