I wanted 2014 to be my “Extreme Year” so when I was on holiday in Australia I went on a Skydiving adventure.
My two best friends took me to the great ocean road near the coast of Victoria, Australia to a magical little school in the middle of nowhere called Skydive the Beach.
It was all smiles and high fives until I got into this plane that shook so much and was so loud it felt like it would break apart at any minute.
About 7,000 feet in the air our plane turned out over the ocean and it finally hit me. We were going to actually jump out of this plane!!! I am embarrassed when I remember asking to land and skip the skydive but my competitive spirit got the better of me.
We did about a minute of free fall which was fucking fantastic and I was yelling the whole time. The weather was perfectly clear and you could see the waves and landscape for miles around.
I heard a saying once that said: “Do one thing everyday that scares you” and I would highly recommend this to anyone who may be thinking about trying skydiving.
I will be starting my solo skydive lessons shortly and hope to be jumping out of a plane on my own soon!
